We met with our social worker on April 10, 2007 to go over our referral packet. Here are some details we learned about Marnina from a medical report dated December 22, 2006:

  • Marnina was found on September 20, 2006 by people who alerted the local police. The policemen could not find her parents and brought her to the orphanage.
  • Upon admission to the orphanage, she was given a physical examination. She was found with jaundice and an infected umbilical cord stump, both of which resolved with treatment. Doctors estimated her date of birth based on her physical development and deemed her normal developmentally for her age.
  • Development info: Marnina can lift her head when held in a standing position or laying on her stomach. She can follow moving objects objects with her eyes and/or moving her head. She gazes at people or colorful toys before her. She attentively listens when her caregiver speaks to her. She giggles when her caregiver plays with her and makes a joyful noise. She cries loudly when unhappy. She makes a tight fist when the palm of her hand is touched. She can hold an object in her hands. She often sucks her fingers to sleep.
  • Living habits: She lives together with other children and has a good diet and sleeping habits.
  • Character, Hobby, & Sociality: She is an outgoing, active, and clever little girl. She smiles constantly. She has quick reactions. She enjoys listening to music and playing with colorful sounding toys. She cries loudly when she is not happy, but stops crying when picked up. She has a gentle reaction to strangers or new stimuli. She is also very receptive to foods she has never eaten.
