Matt grew up in Fayetteville, NC. He graduated from NC State University in Raleigh, NC with dual degrees in Computer Engineering and Science, Technology, and Society Studies. Currently, he works at NC State University’s Center for Urban Affairs developing various web applications for use with the public school systems. He’s also a Sunday School teacher, men's accountability group leader, and owner/developer of NC Christian Gatherings.

Gretchen grew up in Muscatine, Iowa and attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa for a music education/music therapy degree. After college and an internship in Wisconsin, she moved to Greenville, NC in 1997 to work as a music therapist. Currently, she is a homemaker and preparing to be a stay-at-home mom. She's babysitting frequently and is spending the remainder of her time getting the house (and us) ready for a child.
